Sailing Away

We all crave a sense of belonging and wholeness. To live our lives with purpose and direction. We desire to make an imprint, and pass on a legacy to our loved ones during our short time here on this earth. Yet, for so many of us, there is a silent restlessness in our spirits, crying out and searching for more.

More fulfillment.

More understanding.

More acceptance.

More love.

Our true sense of worth and satisfaction comes from understanding that we are a piece of something bigger than ourselves. A part of a bigger story, one of epic and eternal purposes far greater than we could ever produce in our own strength or reasoning.

“It’s not about you.”

Five very simple yet profound words written by Pastor Rick Warren in his bestselling book, The Purpose Driven Life, that opens a door and invites the reader to enter into a world where the viewpoint is not from themselves but from God’s perspective.

Each person’s path throughout life will be one-of-a-kind. He created us with different talents, personalities, and interests for His own desire to play a role in His eternal plans for all of mankind. Just as a woven tapestry reveals a beautiful picture that unveils a story, a tapestry is made over time with millions of threads weaving in and out of each other to create one glorious masterpiece.

God is our Creator.

We are His masterpiece.

We have a place in His eternal story.

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11

For many, as it was for me as well, may find that it takes living life for a while to discover that the only thing which can completely satisfy us is not a job, a location, a spouse, an accomplishment, or a possession but rather the person of Jesus Christ.

We are God’s workmanship.

We are not our own.

We were bought with a price.

Discovering our true identity in Christ is a remarkable and life-changing journey in which the living waters of His Word will refresh and renew you from the inside out. When we make the decision to turn from living a life out of our own self-sufficiencies, desires, and wants and begin seeking freedom from our sins, past hurts, and idols by means of the cross, we get to experience the cleansing and healing powers of the blood of Christ. As we enter into a covenant relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, our redemption is forever sealed with the Holy Spirit, who leads and guides us in all things.

Eternal security and salvation is available to all who seek to unwrap the precious and free gift of His unmerited grace.

When we know our God, His passionate all-consuming love, and begin to uncover the role He has specifically designed for each person He has created, we can sail away from the harbor that is attached to this world in confidence and ease because Jesus Christ not only created the waters and places the wind in your sails, He is our anchor in all things!

We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain. Hebrews 6:13

From my nest to yours,

Chris
